Interim Market President and Chief Executive Officer

After serving at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital and North Alabama Medical Center in various roles for 10 years, Mike Howard returned to NAMC as interim Chief Executive Officer in September of 2024. Howard came to NAMC from Southern Tennessee Regional Health System – Lawrenceburg, where he served as CEO for two years. He also previously served as Director of Respiratory Services at Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville, Tenn. and Director of Cardiopulmonary Services at Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville. Howard joined ECM Hospital in September 2012 as Director of Ancillary Support Services with oversight of Respiratory therapy, Sleep Center and Wound Healing. In January 2014, he was appointed Associate Administrator for the organization and in 2015 appointed to the position Chief Operating Officer at NAMC. Howard earned a Bachelor of Science in Management and Organizational Development from Bethel University and received his Master’s in Business Administration from Texas A&M - Commerce.

Chief Nursing Officer

Terri Harris, RN, BSN, MPH joined the leadership team at NAMC in 2020 as Chief Nursing Officer. Terri has an extensive healthcare background with more than 30 years’ experience. Terri moved to the Shoals from Mississippi, where she served as CNO at Merit Health River Region in Vicksburg.

Jeff Meigs has served as Chief Financial Officer at North Alabama Medical Center and Shoals Hospital since January of 2022. Prior to his arrival, he held the same title at other Lifepoint hospitals such as Haywood Regional Medial Center in North Carolina and Bolivar Medical Center in Mississippi. He has also had stops in Illinois, Kansas and Oklahoma. Jeff has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama and a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M.
