NAMC’s Cardiopulmonary Rehab Program Sets New Patient Visit Records

FLORENCE, Ala., – North Alabama Medical Center’s Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Department has achieved a significant milestone, setting new records for total patient visits for two consecutive months.

The department provided care to 405 patients in June, surpassing the previous record of 396 patients set in October 2025. The record was then broken again in July, when the department provided care to 414 patients.

These monthly totals include patients participating in Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3 Cardiac Rehabilitation, as well as patients receiving COPD and Pulmonary Rehabilitation services.

The continued growth reflects the dedication of NAMC’s Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation team and its commitment to helping patients recover, improve their endurance and quality of life, and regain confidence in their ability to live healthy, active lives.

Cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs are designed to help people with cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions recover and live healthier lives. Cardiac rehabilitation may benefit patients recovering from heart attacks, coronary stents, coronary artery bypass graft surgery, heart valve repair or replacement, and congestive heart failure. Pulmonary rehabilitation can benefit patients with conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and interstitial lung disease. Both programs incorporate exercise, education, counseling and support to help patients reach their individual health goals.

NAMC’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program has also received recertification from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). AACVPR certification demonstrates that a cardiac rehabilitation program is aligned with current guidelines for appropriate and effective early outpatient care of patients with cardiac conditions.
