Dr. Christopher McNair Joins North Alabama Medical Center’s Medical Staff

FLORENCE, Ala., – North Alabama Medical Center is pleased to welcome Christopher McNair, DO, to its medical staff. Dr. McNair is a general surgeon who has joined the North Alabama medical community and is practicing at North Alabama Surgery, located in the Medical Office Building on the NAMC campus at 1751 Veterans Drive, Suite 125, in Florence.

Dr. McNair provides comprehensive general surgical care with a focus on advanced techniques that prioritize patient recovery and outcomes. His clinical specialty is minimally invasive surgery with an emphasis in robotics.

His clinical interests include robotic-assisted and laparoscopic procedures for conditions such as hernias, gallbladder disease, and other abdominal and soft-tissue surgeries, along with the full spectrum of general surgical care.

“We are excited to welcome Dr. McNair to North Alabama Medical Center and the Shoals community,” said NAMC CEO Mike Howard. “His training and commitment to minimally invasive and robotic surgery will be a valuable addition to our medical staff. We look forward to the care he will provide to patients throughout our region.”

Dr. McNair earned his undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science in Biology, from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He went on to earn his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) in Auburn, Alabama, and completed his general surgery residency at Brookwood Baptist Health in Birmingham, Alabama.

Dr. McNair is married to his wife of 11 years, Lindsay, and they have two children, Evelyn, 9, and Pierson, 6.

Outside of medicine, Dr. McNair enjoys collecting fountain pens, playing guitar, and playing disc golf.
