FLORENCE, Ala., – North Alabama Medical Center (NAMC) is ringing in 2026 with the year’s first bundle of joy.

Weighing 7 pounds and 8 ounces and measuring 21 inches, Camryn Raylyn was born to Florence residents Evan and Kennedy Lovelace on January 1^st, at 9:28 a.m.

“It’s been a good experience,” said Kennedy Lovelace. “There were no complications with the delivery. I only labored for about 22 minutes.”

Baby Camryn was delivered by Dr. Mary Robbins. She joins older twin siblings Baylor and Auburn, who were born on November 3rd of 2024. All four members of the Lovelace family have birthdays within two months of each other with Kennedy turning 21 on December 13^th and Evan turning 22 on January 7^th.

The Center for Women and Children’s Health at NAMC offers a unique birth experience with a focus on quality care and comforting services. The facility features nine all-private delivery suites, including two HOPE Suite Delivery Rooms, outfitted with birthing tubs, where patients can experience a natural delivery experience if they choose. Cesarean operating rooms are available on the L&D floor, and the unit is staffed by six board-certified OBGYN’s, a lactation consultant and 40 nurses with a combined 100-plus years of experience in L&D.

“Whether it’s New Year’s Day or any other day, our incredible team is committed to providing a warm and secure space for parents and their babies,” said NAMC Director of Women and Children’s Services Kendra Smith. “We feel truly privileged to help local families celebrate these first precious moments in such a positive and healthy way.”

The Center for Women’s and Children’s Health at North Alabama Medical Center also offers gynecological services, prenatal classes, 24/7 nursery support, and specialized medical equipment for newborns. In 2025, NAMC delivered 1,262 babies, including 15 sets of twins.
