North Alabama Medical Center Recognizes 17 Nurse Residency Graduates

FLORENCE, Ala., – A total of 17 nurses were among the first graduating class of North Alabama Medical Center’s TruMont Nurse Residency Program, a comprehensive program that focuses on clinical competence, cultural transition and leadership development.

Graduates of the 2025 class include Anna Morgan (CCSD), Aubrey Adair (CCU), Caylee Thompson (Cardiac), Jacob Stanfill (CCU), Gloria Pounders (CCU), Abigail Walker (CCU), Johnna Staggs (ER), Kristan Miller (Nursery), Kyser Jackson (CCSD), Tiffany Lesko (CVICU), Torie Clark (ER), Presley Jones (ER), Carley Head (ER), Whitney Austin (CVICU), Jordan Napier (CCU), Johana DeLaSancha-Santana (Postpartum) and Allison Hammock (CCSD).

The structured initiative is designed to support newly licensed nurses as they transition into clinical practice.

“I am extremely proud of our Nurse Residency Program graduates,” said North Alabama Medical Center Chief Nursing Officer Melissa Armstead. “Their dedication, compassion and commitment to excellence reflects our core values of our hospital. These new nurses have shown remarkable growth, and we are confident they will make a lasting impact on the community that we serve.”

This milestone reflects the hospital’s ongoing commitment to developing confident, capable nurses who are equipped to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients throughout the community. The TruMont RN Resident Program is based on recommendations and evidence gathered over 10 years by The National Academy of Medicine, the Joint Commission, National Council of State Boards of Nursing and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
